Brittany Vicknair
CP, Owner
Brittany is an ABC Certified Prosthetist and co-owner of POA of Louisiana. She received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at Southeastern University and her prosthetic certification at California State University Dominguez Hills. Brittany has been a bilateral amputee since 2004, due to bacterial meningitis. In 2006, she became a patient at POA in Orlando and experienced first-hand their high quality care and knowledge of prosthetic technology. Recently, Brittany was given the opportunity to work under POA Orlando owner Stan Patterson through which she gained invaluable knowledge in the O&P field. This experience has given her the drive to produce the highest quality of care and service and to open a POA in Metairie, LA.
Stan Patterson
CP, Partner & Owner of POA of CFl
Stan is an ABC Certified Prosthetist and is nationally known for his revolutionary strides in prosthetic design. He received his Bachelors of Science in Education at the University of North Alabama and earned his certification in prosthetics from the American Board for Certification in 1994. In 1999, he founded Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates (POA) of Central Florida, an industry leader and innovator in the custom fabrication of high performance prosthetic devices. Stan is an inventor with several patents including the Negative Pressure Suspension (NPS) and the vacuum socket system. He is also an owner and mentor to the prosthetists at POA of Louisiana.
George Vicknair
Prosthetic Technician
George resides in Lutcher with his beuatiful wife, Rachel, of 43 years. He retired from Valero in 2015 after 30 years in the oil and gas business. He didn’t think he would be working again until his daughter Brittany, owner of POA, acquired bacterial meningitis while attending college. When Brittany lost her legs to the disease, and was living in constant pain, he was determined to get her the help she needed. He sought out POA of Florida and Stan! After he saw how they helped her live pain free, he wanted to also help others that are going through similar experiences. When Brittany opened here in Louisiana, George came out of retirement and quickly got on board customizing prosthesis! The rest is history!
George enjoys spending time with his family, including his 4 grandkids – Collyn, Cale, Cohen and of course Cyan!
